Lizzie Schofield

Lizzie Schofield is a Gardener, presenter and TV Gardener on Beechgrove and prior to this she was a Primary School Teacher.

She joined Beechgrove, BBC Scotland flagship Gardening Programme as a fulltime presenter from Beechgrove Garden 2023.

The story of how Lizzie ended up as a Presenter on Beechgrove started when the  cottage Lizzie and her Husband Malcolm had bought on the coast at Buckie, Moray had hardly no garden.

About 7 years ago they bought the plot of land to the side which included a very steep bank.

They were not gardeners and learnt as they went along from reading books and magazines and watching gardening programmes.

They added steps and terraces and planted the garden up from scratch and added a pergola and filled the garden with colour making a beautiful garden.

Lizzie and her husband Malcom beautiful coastal garden in Buckie won the Judges' and People's Awards in the 2020 Gardener's World Magazine Garden of the Year contest.

Their hillside garden at Cuthbert's Brae overlooking the Moray Coast is also open for the Scotland's Gardens Scheme whom Lizzie is also an Ambassador for.

From little acorns

The garden and Lizzie first appeared in Beechgrove 2021 when they made a visit to see her award winning garden and her Willow work.

Lizzie began as a Remote Guest Presenter in Beechgrove 2022  alongside Diana Yates and Erin & Joe Armstrong who both returned for Beechgrove Garden 2023.

Lizzie then also appeared as a guest on Beechgrove Gardens in Winter.

She proved to be very popular with the viewers for her fresh approach to gardening as well as her Garden Crafts.

Lizzie Schofield  joined the  2023 line up of presenters including the longest serving presenter Carole Baxter as well as George AndersonBrian CunninghamKirsty Wilson Calum Clunie and fellow newcomers Diana Yates & Head Gardener / Presenter Scott Smith.

Lizzie made her presenting debut in Episode 3 on Thursday 20 April 2023.

In 2024 Beechgrove had a complete change of format for its Winter Schedule with a whole new programme Craft Christmas at Beechgrove.

Lizzie Schofield featured in each one of the 4 episodes and was in her element from making decorations from plants to crafting with children.

The programme was hosted by Jean Johansson as well as the usual Beechgrove Presenters plus special guests.

Lizzie Schofield accent has caused a lot of debate with some people saying she has a slight Australian accent and others a combination of an English and North East Scottish accent.

As Lizzie keeps her life quite private, the accent speculation will just have to continue as little is known about her background.

Lizzie lives with Husband Malcom and their 2 children plus Klaus the dog in Buckie on the Moray Coast, Scotland.
