Beechgrove returns for the first episode of Beechgrove Gardens 2025 on Thursday 3 April 2025 for BBC Scotland and on BBC2 on Friday 4 April 2025.

Beechgrove is also available on the BBC iplayer as well as being repeated on the Sunday morning Gardening slot on BBC2.

The series will run for 26 episodes taking us into Autumn 2025.

The first programme of the series included a wonderful tribute to the late Presenter Jim McColl who sadly passed away on 22 October 2024 aged 89.

The 2025 line up of presenters returning include the longest serving presenter Carole Baxter who is celebrating her 40th year as well as George Anderson, Brian Cunningham, Kirsty Wilson, Calum Clunie. Lizzie Schofield and returning this year the latest Garden expert / Presenter Ruth Vichos

This year competition is the name of the game as the presenters compete against each other to see who can have the most successful vegetable plot.

George Anderson will be in the ever sunny Joppa hacking away at his shrubs and sharing his garden and allotment with us.

People will still be googling what kind of accent does Lizzie Schofield have!

Wildlife gardening will also feature as they explore how to make our gardens more wildlife friendly as well as sustainable gardening.

Carole Baxter is spending less time in the garden this year and more out and about visiting gardens old and new.

Beechgrove has seen more changes to the gardening team with a new Head Gardener, Sarah Griffiths who joined the team in January 2025 who previously worked at Cruickshank Botanic Garden.

Sarah is taking over from Jennifer Wright who became Head Gardener in July 2024

Kaori Fujiki has also joined the Garden Team and Lucinda McClintock has possibly left the team?

Beechgrove Garden seems to grow in popularity every year, I think because it is always evolving and trying new things.

It also follows the produce it grows literally from seed to the table, watching the whole journey and then getting the taste test gives you a real idea on what variety is worth trying.

We all love Tattie time, when the potatoes get planted using various methods right up to comparing the harvest and taste.

This year will we see the return of the Beechgrove remote presenters Efi Papagianni and Erin & Joe Armstrong or will we see someone new?

I am sure we will be visiting viewers gardens all over Scotland but does anyone else miss the tours the Presenters used to do that always ended up in and Q&A in the local Village Hall with an abundance of diseased foliage to examine!

Whatever this series brings us we are looking forward to the return of Beechgrove Gardens and getting on with all the gardening jobs with a Spring in our step!
