Gardeners' World 2025 -

Monty Don is back for the first programme of Gardeners’ World for the 2025 growing season starting on Friday 14 March 2025 and repeated on BBC2 over the weekend and on the BBC iplayer.

Is it me or does it feel Like Monty hardly been off for the Television since Gardeners’ World 2024 ended!

We have been spoilt with Gardeners’ World Winter Specials 2024/2025 and Gardeners’ World Compilations 2025 as well as his highly popular series Monty Don’s British Gardens.

Monty as usual will be in his garden at Longmeadow with Ned and this year he has a big project in the garden to revamp the borders in the Jewel Garden.

It is that time of year to get sowing and Monty will be guiding us through the growing season telling us what to plant, how to do it and when is the right time.

Our favourite presenters will also be visiting gardens and gardeners up and down the country showing us all what is best about our beautiful gardens and favourite plants.

There will be the viewers videos, sent in my keen amateur and not so amateur gardeners to share their own plots and knowledge with us.

Will there be anything new this year? I hope so, the format can get a little repetitive and other than the odd new variety to try to grow, seed sowing is pretty much the same every time!

Saying that Monty is still the number one Television Gardener and with no sign of retirement, he is not ready to hand in the trowel yet.

There has been a new addition to Adam Frost Garden with new Miniature Dachshund Buster the Dog

Unlike Gardeners’ World, it main evening competitor Beechgrove, is always changing format, with new ideas and with several main presenters it has become increasingly popular over recent years.

The new series of Beechgrove 2025 starts in April 2025.

Returning for a second series is Alan Titchmarsh’s Gardening Club Season 2 2025 although not directly in competition with it being broadcast on a Monday afternoon.

This series he has even more new and up and coming presenters or ‘Garden Team members’ and it’s format is a refreshing change.

So here hoping for something new in this season of Gardeners’ World and maybe a new pup Monty?

Either way with Gardeners’ World back on our television screens, warmer days are coming, there are seeds to sow, lawns to mow, new plants to buy, projects to start and all to enjoy from your armchair every Friday evening or your own green space.
