Beechgrove Garden 2026

Beechgrove Garden 2026 returns to BBC Scotland on Thursday 02 April 2026 and BBC2 on Friday 03 April 2026.

The series will run for 26 episodes, which at just 30 minutes are never long enough.

Beechgrove Gardens is Scotland Flagship gardening programme  which was first shown on 14 April 1978.

Beechgrove Gardens has had several name changes over the years having been called The Beechgrove Garden, Beechgrove and now Beechgrove Garden.

It was originally called The Beechgrove Garden after its original location in  Beechgrove Terrace, Rosemount in Aberdeen.

Beechgrove Gardens moved to its Current location in 1996 in Brotherfield Nursery, Westhill near Aberdeen.

This is the main filming location but the programme is also filmed at the garden and allotment of George Anderson in sunny Joppa near Edinburgh.

Also appearing occasionally are Brian Cunningham garden in Scone, Kirsty Wilson  from her allotment and for her House Plants and  Calum Clunie award winning produce at his allotment in Leven Fife.

Beechgrove Garden 2026 Carole Baxtermakes a very welcomereturn for the first episode after being absent from the programme for a lot of Beechgrove Garden 2025.

Carole is going to out visiting gardens again this season and returning for the last episode to the garden.

Last year the Presenters had a challenge set for who could make the most Productive Border which was won by Calum Clunie

This year challenge was revealed in episode 1 by Carole and Brian Cunninghamand each contestant has one of the 5 senses to grow!

There was no new Winter schedule for Beechgrove in 2025 after the previous year change to the usual Winter Special with Craft Christmas at Beechgrove, which although repeated this year, it did not include enough gardening for me.

You know better weather is coming when Beechgrove starts talking Tatties, and what varieties and ways of growing them they are trialling this season.

We can expect the usual no nonsense Gardening ideas from Beechgrove, new varieties to try, what we should be doing in the garden and how sunny it is in Joppa with George Anderson.

I am convinced that George only lets them film on sunny days!

We will be visiting presenters gardens and allotments as well as viewers videos from their own garden, as well as the handy tips and advice segment.

What changes or what is new for Beechgrove Garden 2026 we will have to wait and see as the programme progresses.

Beechgrove Garden has become increasingly popular on BBC2 and has become a big part of the Television Gardening schedule this side of the Scottish Border.

Let the Tattie growing commence!
