Gardeners’ World 2023 returns with Monty Don welcoming us to the first of four Gardeners’ World Winter Specials 2023.

The first programme was shown on Friday 08 December 2023 on BBC2 and repeated in the Saturday morning Gardening slot and is also available on the BBC iplayer.

These Winter Specials are always a welcome return, personally January or February would be better scheduling as it only seems a few weeks since we said goodbye to Monty and the dogs.

The Gardeners’ World Team have filming throughout the year for these specials and visiting gardens up and down the country to give us some delights to see us through the less active gardening season.

Monty will be in the Garden showing us what jobs we can be doing this Winter from Potting up an Amaryllis, tidying your Winter tools, as well as plenty of other garden preparations.

Monty is only in 2 of the Episodes with Adam Frost and Frances Tophill taking the lead on the other 2 programmes.

Some of the gardens visited are viewers own gardens but there are also more familiar ones like Mary Berry’s Garden, Sue KentAllotment as well as a Kitchen garden at a Hotel.

We have festive decoration ideas from Carol Klein and lots of seasonal plant favourites like Witch Hazel and Snowdrops.

Making their Debut on Gardeners’ World Winter Special in Episode 2 is award winning Garden Designer Tom Massey who as well as winning Gold at Chelsea Flower Show has appeared on 2 series of Your Garden Made Perfect
