
Tayshan Hayden-Smith is an Award Winning Garden Designer, TV Presenter, Semi Professional Footballer and Founder of Grow2Know.
He was born on 23 September 1996 and brought up in North Kensington by his single parent mother Nancy with his 3 siblings, his mother was diagnosed with Cancer and sadly died when he was 23 years old.
He had trials at Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Watford - and also spent a season in Austria playing for FC Kitzbuhe.
Tayshan became a young dad at 18 years old.

in 2017 the devastating Grenfell Tower fire was to change the North Kensington community he lived in forever and at just 23 years old Tayshan started getting plants to green up the area and started the Grenfell Garden of Peace to benefit the community.
Tayshan became a guerrilla gardener taking over unloved and neglected patches of land and greening them up, which lead to the forming of Grow2Know.
Fellow Directors of Grow2Know are Gardener Danny Clarke and Ali Yellop.
Grow2Know run lots of projects to not only green up areas and make new gardens but to promote gardening to the community as well as encourage the next generation of gardeners.
Tayshan started appearing on our screens for his community work with Grow2Know and soon the enthusiastic gardener was popping up more and more with his innovative ideas to highlight the benefits of gardening.
In July 2021 Tayshan appeared on the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show and shared his experience of his first flower show.
Chelsea Flower Show 2021 which was aired later in the year, in September, was when we first saw Tayshan presenting from World famous Flower Show.
Tayshan then appeared on Nick Knowles Better Homes, Episode 2, which aired on 29 November 2021 on 5Star as the resident Garden Expert.
For the second series of Your Garden Made Perfect, which first aired on BBC2 on 04 February 2022, Tayshan Hayden-Smith takes over from Joel Bird as the small Garden Designer.
Working with the garden owners and on a limited budget a different garden problem is tackled each week using Tayshan design ideas.
Presented by Angela Scanlon it features award-winning garden designers, Helen Elks-Smith, Pip Probert, Tom Massey, Manoj Malde and fellow new designers Steve Williams and Oliver Bond.
Tayshan Hayden-Smith made his debut on Gardeners' World 2023 but sadly has not appeared on the programme since.
in 2024 Tayshan Hayden-Smith became the Community Gardener on Alan Titchmarsh new Gardening Programme Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club which was first aired on Monday 4 March at 2 PM.
As well as Alan and Tayshan it also has Horticulturist David Domoney, Horticulturist Camilla Bassett-Smith, House Plant Expert Sarah Gerrard-Jones, Organic Gardener Anna Greenland and Award Winning Garden Designer Lucy Willcox.
In 2022 Tayshan Hayden-Smith and Danny Clarke won a Silver Gilt Medal at RHS Chelsea flower show for their garden Hands off Mangrove by Grow2Know.
The garden represents 2 issues Global deforestation and social injustice with the large steel structure representing the Mangrove Nine who were Community Activists in the 1970s.
In 2025 Tayshan Hayden-Smith became an Ambassador for the National Trust, in the same year he also quit as an RHS Ambassador for young people and community gardens and described it as a 'toxic relationship'.
Tayshan has 2 children Luca and Jazz.
