Garden Rescue Series 5

Garden Rescue returned to our screens for the Fifth series on 11 May 2020 on BBC1.

This series was Shown during the Covid-19 Pandemic when the interest in gardening was increasing and everyone wanted a garden makeover after spending more time in our homes and gardens.

Charlie Dimmock who has been in the programme since it started in 2016 returns along side The Rich Brothers Harry & David Rich who have also has been in it from the start.

Arit Anderson who joined the programme in 2019 for Series 4 also returns.

Series 5 of Garden Rescue returns with the usual format of the homeowner wanting a garden makeover for a set budget.

The Garden Designers visit the garden and draw up their plans which are then presented to the homeowners, who pick their favourite.

The Contractors and Designers get to work achieving their dream garden before the finale of the big reveal.

One of the most memorable garden makeovers from this series is Episode 2 Havant where Charlie Dimmock and David & Harry Rich compete to make over the garden of Lisa and Paul.

Rural Greece meets the Railway is the brief and Charlie wins to produce one of the most bizarre garden designs of the programme.

Greek ruins are constructed, a frog pond and a complete outdoor train track to run around the garden.

From Fairy tale with a concrete table to Zen Gardens, a cocktail garden and an outdoor cinema all completed for the happy homeowners by the Designers.

Although the gardens are usually average budget with no labour to pay they are rarely achievable to do yourself on a budget, and sometimes definitely not to everyone's taste!

Garden Rescue is an easy watch for Gardeners or non-Gardeners with its set format and popular Garden Designers, there is always next year to start that garden makeover!
