Arit Anderson

Arit Anderson is a Gardener, Writer, Award Winning Garden Designer and Presenter on Garden Rescue and Gardeners' World.

Arit spent 25 years working in fashion and creative events around the world and she was also a holistic and well-being therapist.

Her creative skills for colour and the healing properties of her holistic training combined to create an interest in her own garden design.

This new found love of horticulture lead to her seeking more formal training and she started a gardening course at Capel Manor College obtaining a NOCN Diploma in Garden Design.

Arit Anderson became a garden designer.

In 2013 along with other students Arit won RHS Fresh Talent award at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Arit achieved a Gold Medal in 2016 at RHS Hampton Court.

Arit Anderson joined Garden Rescue in 2019 Series 4 to compete against the Rich Brothers Harry and David to be the winning design in this Television Garden Makeover Show.

This caused concern amongst Charlie Dimmock fans as Charlie hadn't appeared in the first two episodes of the series they thought she had replaced Charlie.

Garden Rescue is a Garden Makeover programme shown in the afternoon on BBC1.

The format of the programme is that the home owner wants a garden makeover and has a set budget for the materials but the design and labour are all free.

The 2 Garden Designers go head to head to design the winning design which is chosen by the home owner.

The Garden Landscape Team then start with the hard landscaping and preparing the plot.

The winning Garden Designer assisted by the losing one then start the transformation giving us ideas, tips and plant advice along the way.

When the garden is complete the winning Garden Designer does the grand reveal to the home owner and we see the reaction and then they tour their new garden, watched from around a corner by the losing Garden Designer.

Arit Anderson's unique garden design ideas full of colour and textures led to her becoming a hit with fans.

Arit is a guest presenter on Gardeners' World alongside Monty Don and also writes for Gardeners' World Magazine.

In 2020 Arit co-presented Heavenly Gardens with Alexander Armstrong. Shown at Easter the 2 part programme visited religious sites and their gardens across Great Britain.

Arit Anderson is a Trustee for the National Garden Scheme as well as a Patron for Cultivate London, a RHS Ambassador for Environmental & Community Initiatives, Co-Patron at Tuppenny Barn and Co-founder of the Sustainable Landscape Foundation.

In 2026 Arit Anderson will be designing a show Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower show for Parkinson's UK and this is deeply personal as Arit as her Sister Julie, has been diagnosed with the condition.

Arit Anderson has her own Garden Design Business Diamond Hill Garden Design and is based in and around London.

Arit lives in London with her husband Scott and has 2 Step Children.
