Calum Clunie 

Calum Clunie is a Gardener and Allotmenteer who since 2021 has been a TV Presenter on BBC Scotland flagship gardening programme Beechgrove.

He got his love of gardening from his grandparents Alasdair and Sheila Simpson as a child they would all garden together.

Calum has watched Beechgrove or The Beechgrove Garden as it used to be known, for as long as he can remember.


He has been winning prizes at local shows since he was 15 with produce from his allotment.

Calum worked at a High school where he was a School of Rugby co-ordinator.


From little acorns

In 2020 Calum Clunie featured on Beechgrove when he sent in clips filmed at his allotment in Fife.

Calum Clunie joined  Beechgrove 2021 as a regular presenter originally mostly from his allotment in Leven where we will followed him through the complete growing process from seed to harvesting to Show standard produce.

He joined the Beechgrove presenters at that time Carole Baxter, George Anderson, Chris Beardshaw, Brian Cunningham, Kirsty Wilson, Sophie McKilligan 

Chris Beardshaw and Sophie McKilligan both left in 2021.


Calum Clunie was joined in the current line-up of Presenters by Lizzie Scofield in 2023 and Ruth Vichos in 2024 alongside Carole Baxter, George Anderson and Brian Cunningham.

Calum Clunie also gives talks and demonstrations, does Judging at shows and appearances.

Calum has his own Garden maintenance business,

Calum lives in Leven, Fife.
